Documentary soundtrack

Paul Redman and Tim Lewis from Handcrafted Films commissioned me to compose a soundtrack to one of their powerful and compelling environmental documentaries on the illegal timber trade. The documentary was commissioned by the European Commission and is currently in development.

Below are 2 of my ideas, 1 for a main theme and 1 for a lighter instrumental for more hopeful sections of the documentary:

Documentary main theme (on pan drum and trumpet)
The main theme had to be dramatic, exciting, yet organic with darker, complex undertones mirroring the subject matter and highlighting the problems and pitfalls in forestry legislation and the illegal timber trade.

Hopeful section (on acoustic guitar)
I wanted the hopeful piece to sound, light, honest, warm, simplistic and inspiring. giving hope, highlighting the solutions and the move towards a brighter future.
