De-forestation website
Jago Wadley, Senior Forest Campaigner from the Environmental Investigations Agency, commissioned me to design a website for Cutting Edge, a project he’s working on to fight and bring awareness to de-forestation in Asia. The project we’re working on together is to create a site that Jago can use to start discussions, teaching, interacting with users, allowing people to be updated on de-forestation by subscribing to newsletters, etc and giving visitors important governmental information on the legalities of de-forestation, like forest governance, etc. This site is to act as a hub, a place where people can download and print off important documents, make their thoughts heard on a global platform and bring awareness to government officials on situations from the people witnessing de-forestation in Asia on a regular basis.
In addition to the site, we’re also setting up a forum, giving users who are directly affected by de-forestation the ability to talk with one another, post photos of things happening right now, and communicate important messages regarding de-forestation.
The majority of the users to the site may not speak English and because we want them to be able to understand Jago’s messages and to communicate with each other, we’re putting in a translate function that will translate the entire site into any selected language.
I’ve literally just finished designing the site so it’s currently in development stages. Once it’s live and online, I’ll post a link here to anyone interested in this important cause.
