Miniscoff Ltd

Angus and his wife Shoo started their children’s ready meals business from the eight by six foot kitchen of their London flat, only six years ago. Initially supplying 10 London delis, including Planet Organic, they now employ 11 people at Scoff Central, in Wiltshire, and supply over 100 restaurants – including Center Parcs and the Rainforest Café – as well as the independent retail trade. Their meals, for children aged 12 months up to 12 years, are 100% organic and have won many awards. Shoo was the ‘Practical Parenting’ ‘Business Parent of the Year 2006′.

I was tasked with creating the miniscoff website. Angus wanted to create a site that had all bells and whistles with animation, interactivity, which would appeal to children, but also with a professional slant so they’d be taken seriously in their competitive marketplace. He also wanted the site to rank highly on search engines.

The miniscoff site was a fun project to work on, Angus is a very talented guy full of life and enthusiasm for creativity. Together we discussed the options and ideas, etc and finally found a perfect solution.

All the miniscoff childrens meals have fun names, like “Mr MacGregor’s Pie” or “Treasure Island Chicken” I came up with the idea to record sounds and people reading out the names of their meals in character when you clicked onto one of their products (the stones on the right hand side of the site). SO I had to call on numerous friends and family members and recorded the sounds of cows, chickens, etc to create something that would appeal to children and have a fun element. Not only did the site have mass appeal for children but with the technical wizardry and talents of Dave Flindall, we also added things like a postcode search that allowed users to find out where they could buy miniscoff products.

miniscoff are a great company, and I wish Angus, Shoo and the rest of the miniscoff team, all the best for the future.

Visit the miniscoff site or buy their delicious children’s meals from Ocado or Able & Cole
