Woodshed Recordings site

Woodshed Recordings is a independent record label I set up with my good friend Nick Collins to help us and other musicians release our music to a global market. Woodshed Recordings LLP has helped me and other recording artists release their work on itunes and sell CDs online. Dave Flindall and I put together the site, which has won us two design awards (“Best design” category in the American Design Awards and “Inspiring Design” Business Design Awards).

Dave built the site using his wealth of programming knowledge and I designed the site with input from Mike Calodoucas and Kin Cheah. Before any of the site had actually been designed Dave and I brainstormed for days, considering the style and tone. Dave (also being a keen and extremely talented photographer) and I went on an intensive photoshoot and explored deserted farms and derelict buildings near my parents house in Axford and used these photographs as the base to build from. Creeping around old farm sheds and photographing broken roof tiles, cobwebs, bolts, screws and seeing cars, completely run down with trees and plants growing from them made this a shoot I’ll never forget.

Jennifer Ward a very creative and talented illustrator/painter created the artwork for the CD album covers – these illustrations were also used in conjunction with the site. Massive thanks to Jenny for her creativity and working with us on this. THANK YOU
